John D. Green 6am - 10am Weekdays
Well, it all started many… scratch that… not so many years ago in the swamps of the Southwest (Okay, so it was a desert). After showing an aversion to doing real work I started “working” weekends at the local radio station. After making several stops along the way I landed in the Mid-Ohio Valley in the summer of 2002 and have had a complicated relationship with my alarm clock ever since. Thanks for spending your mornings with us!
Ally Gator 10am - 3pm Weekdays
Hey guys and gals!
They call me AllyGator but, Ally works just fine! I’m on the air with ya every weekday from 10am – 3pm, including your All-Request Drive Thru from noon – 1pm! It’s your chance to request a song you might hear so often or haven’t heard in years, dedicate a song to a buddy or loved one, or maybe just hear your voice on the air giving a shout-out to your classmates, co-workers, teammates, and friends!
I grew up in a teeny-tiny town just west of central OH, where the cows and cats probably outnumbered the people! I’m not the kind of country that grew up on a farm but, I had the best of both worlds really! I got to help friends with animals and farm chores when I stayed over then, go home, clean up and play ball in the backyard with my sisters! I was a member of a local 4-H club for about 6 years. My favorite projects involved making clothes for friends/family, photography, cooking and mentoring younger members in the club. I can stitch that torn hem on your jeans, change the flat tire on your car, then make a mean country dinner for 5! And I’m proud of that! Lol
Since I mentioned my sisters, I should probably tell you that there are two of them…both older… skinnier...bossier…and much wiser than me! I did not come to terms with that last fact until my college years. We joke around a lot and I’ve taken plenty of flack for being “the baby” but, they pretty much rock!
To wrap it up: I’m 24 years old, 2011 graduate from Marietta College, photographer, artist, musician, seamstress, designer, fan and decent player of tennis, diehard fan of almost anything OSU Buckeyes, fan of Reds and Dodgers baseball, and Nascar Sprint Cup team #48 Jimmie Johnson! I truly believe that being “Born Country” was the best thing to happen to me! I was raised with a great balance of faith, family, friends, and fun that I try to maintain as I grow up. I thank the Froggy family and the MOV for making this shy girl from the middle of nowhere feel like she’s found a place to be! If you need to know anything else, you know the number to call every weekday from 10a-3p!
Radio Lia 7pm - 12m Weekdays
I’m Lia. The host. The Facilitator. The sticky substance that holds the stories together with the songs. I’m the gal who can’t for the life of me keep a secret yet everyone seems to tell me their secrets anyway. I love my job. I’m happily married to the luckiest guy on earth, Chad. I have 4 kids. All of them smart, spoiled and love country music. In my spare time I play word games, mind games and lock myself in the bathroom for 5 minutes of peace at least once a day. Here’s a secret about me: I never talk on the phone when I’m not at work. That could be because I do it every night for hours. My sisters complain constantly about me never calling them back. Even my husband occasionally goes to voice mail.
Boss Frog 3pm - 7pm Weekdays
Hi…they call me Boss Frog. I am the newest member of the Froggy 99 team, jumping into the pond here in October of 2012 , and because I’m not truly awake til the crack of noon, I'll be your Afternoon Drive host, helping you get home after a hard day at work while you refrained from going postal on that co-worker that gets on your last nerve!
I was born and raised in Bristol, Tennessee…doesn’t mean much to anyone unless you’re a NASCAR fan, but my hometown is also the birthplace of the late Tennessee Ernie Ford, and became designated as “The Birthplace of Country Music” because in 1927, Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family recorded the first country music albums in history-kinda cool, huh? I got bit by the radio bug after watching WKRP In Cincinnati and told my mama I wanted to grow up to be like Dr. Johnny Fever. She started praying. I started in radio when I was 14 years old and have been at it now for over 30 years! I’ve worked in several different places and have played everything from gospel to rock-n-roll to polka music, but country is my passion. I like music of all types if it is done well. Everything from bluegrass to classic country to southern rock…and I also love southern gospel music (The Cathedrals were da bomb!). I have a daughter named Stephanie, a son-in-law named David and the light of my life is my little grandson, Luke, who incidentally, was born on my dad’s birthday, August 1st! I was raised on good country cookin’ and my Granny Weaver’s Christian values. One thing you might find interesting about me is that I am also a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. I worked in funeral service for several years and also owned my own funeral home for awhile.
I’m thrilled to be here in the mid-Ohio Valley playing you great country music and taking you backstage to meet your favorite country stars when we care able, and I looking forward to being in your car with you every afternoon for a long time to come here on FROGGY 99! Ya need anything or just wanna say “hey”? Just give me a shout on the Hopline between 3 and 7 weekday afternoons at 304-422-4487. We’ll sit and chew the fat for awhile. Thanks for listening to FROGGY 99!
